About the Event

Kids Innovative, in partnership with PoMoArts, is happy to offer this Digital Music Camp! This camp is designed to inspire students to learn the basics of software and develop an understanding of electronic hardware through the creation of a digital piano. At the completion of this camp, students will have basic programming skills, the ability to incorporate micro:bit's external pins in circuitry and monitoring applications. This unique camp uses a combination of interactive and student curated recordings to make learning complex concepts and advanced programming skills fun!

Coding experience not necessary!

Students can expect to:

• Learn the basics of programming and the micro:bit chip • Code digital notes on the computer transferring the program to a student-built piano project • Assemble components and present their projects

Supplies Included:

  • micro:bit
  • components

The micro: bit is a pocket-sized computer that inspires kids to get creative with software and hardware technology. It has tiny circuits on the back of the computer chip which can be programmed to do fun tasks such as making a game, a calculator, an autonomous car, robot and so much more. It has bright LED display lights, buttons and features that connect to wires for additional components such as speakers to make a musical note or a reaction key. Kids can make multiple projects and reuse the micro:bit many times as they would like.

A laptop computer is required for this camp. Students may bring their own from home or use one provided by the instructor. Please call our Customer Service Staff at 604-931-2008 to arrange use of a laptop.
