About the event
Kids Innovative, in partnership with PoMoArts, is happy to offer this Green Tech Camp! This camp will be a full week packed with hands on activities that students will be able to experience using the micro:bit chip. We will assemble hardware components for the project performing tasks that integrate with nature. This is a great way to learn about how technology can support the environment. This unique camp uses a combination of interactive and student curated recordings to make learning coplex concepts and advanced programming skills fun! Coding experience not necessary! Students in this camp can expect to:
- Learn the basics of programming and the micro:bit chip
- Build a green project transferring the programs from the computer to the micro:bit chip
- Play a game to review learnings and present their projects
A laptop computer is required for this camp. Students may bring their own from home or use one provided by the instructor. Please contact our Customer Service staff at 604-931-2008 to arrange use of a laptop if needed.
Supplies provided include:
- 1 micro:bit (The micro: bit is a pocket-sized computer that inspires kids to get creative with software and hardware technology. It has tiny circuits on the back of the computer chip which can be programmed to do fun tasks such as making a game, a calculator, an autonomous car, robot and so much more. It has bright LED display lights, buttons and features that connect to wires for additional components such as speakers to make a musical note or a reaction key. Kids can make multiple projects and reuse the micro:bit many times as they would like.)
